Are you getting in the way of your own success?
Are you getting in the way of your own success?

What if the thing holding your business back isn't a lack of strategy, but a fear of what might happen when you finally succeed?

A mentor said something that stopped me in my tracks. He said…

Your business can only grow to the level of problems you're prepared to handle.

Think about that for a moment.

You want more clients, but you're afraid of putting yourself out there and being judged.

You want more sales, but you're afraid of hearing no, being rejected, or dealing with unhappy customers.

You want to grow your business to six or seven figures, but the thought of having more clients to serve, more decisions to make, and more responsibility on your shoulders feels overwhelming.

See the disconnect?

You're asking for more, while part of you is trying to protect you from what might come with getting it. And you may not even realize you're doing it.

You tell yourself you need a better marketing strategy, more confidence, or a little more time before you're ready to put yourself out there.

But sometimes, the real issue isn't that you don't know what to do to grow your business. It's that you're afraid of what might happen when you do.

How do you expect to grow your business if you're constantly trying to avoid anything uncomfortable?

That's not how growth works.

The goal isn't to make sure nothing ever goes wrong. It's to build the confidence, skills, and capacity to handle things when they do.

Yes, someone might criticize you. A client might be unhappy, and a decision might not work out the way you hoped.

You can deal with that.

You can learn, adjust, and keep moving forward.

And the more you trust yourself to handle these situations, the less power they have over your decisions.

So, instead of only asking yourself, 'What do I need to do to grow my business?'

Try asking yourself this…

'What am I afraid might happen if my business actually grows, and what would it take for me to trust myself to handle it?'

Your answer might reveal something your next marketing strategy never will.

I'd love to hear your thoughts. Hit reply and tell me what came up for you as you read this.
