My Biggest Business Lesson

Biggest Business Lesson

Welcome to November!!! Wow we’re really coming into the last stretch of the year!

What a year it’s been, and lately I’ve been grateful to take part in some great events within my community. One of those was a recent networking event, where I was part of a panel.

I had a great question that was posed to me after the panel discussion. As I was getting ready to leave, I had the pleasure to speak to a lovely lady who did not get a chance to ask a question. She told me she wished she had asked us, “after all the years in business, what is our biggest lesson?”

Now, this was such an amazing question that got me thinking, and when I got to the core of what my lesson was, I realized that the advise I would have shared went way beyond my business. That lesson was: Let God/Spirit be my business partner, my CEO.

Now, before I go on, please do not get caught up in the term God. Use whatever term that fits with your spiritual practice, for this higher power that created the entire Universe. God is my word and I feel intensely and immensely connected to it.

My answer may seem somewhat inappropriate to a question on building your business, but for me it’s everything.

I consider myself a planner (hello I created one :)), and I LOVE numbers and analyzing them and putting together sales targets and plans to meet my client’s goals. However, the fundamental truth I know to be true is that nothing and I mean nothing I ever do, can give me big and lasting result without connecting to my Source. When I do things from a place of alignment to Source, miracles happen!

How does this look like for me?

Well for me, it’s getting ready for my coaching calls and asking Spirit to work through me. To lead the calls/meetings and allow me to be a channel to deliver what Source needs for my clients. I prepare, and plan for my clients and then I allow God to take the wheel in my coaching calls.

It’s praying every time I step on stage, about to lead a talk, workshop or seminar and again asking to be a channel and delivering the right message to the audience and connect with them in a way that’ll bring them the greatest value.

It’s waking up in the morning and reciting a line from A Course in Miracles that reads; “Where would you have me go, what would you have me do, what would you have me to say, and to whom?”

It’s every time, I hit send on my email communication to my community, I pray that my message will be the right message that someone needs at the right time. I also recite another beautiful line from A Course in Miracles that reads:

"I am here only to be truly helpful.
I am here to represent Him Who sent me.
I do not have to worry about what to say or what to do,
because He Who sent me will direct me.
I am content to be wherever He wishes, knowing He goes there with me.
I will be healed as I let Him teach me to heal."

More importantly it is in looking at my financial targets and praying to God to help me deliver that or something even better, ‘under grace in perfect ways’ and for the highest good of all concerned.

It’s not always easy, and I don’t always get it right, but I try. Because I know truly that God is my true Source of supply. Not my clients, investments, programs etc. They are simply numerous channels that money comes to my business and to me. However, it’s God that provides for me, and when I focus on this and stay in alignment to it, there can be no lack in my life and business!

This has been such a freeing experience and consequently, I’m seeing more incrediable results both in all areas of my life. I am more relaxed and at ease and know that if a program or a prospective client did not come as planned, well that there is someone or something better on the horizon. It helps me not look too long at the closed door, but focus and know that a new and better opportunity is on its way.
