Why jealousy can be a good thing to helping you achieve your dreams!

Have you ever felt a pang of jealousy when you came across someone doing great things? You read their success story or post and instant popularity and wonder if it’s really possible for you to have the same. Or, someone who seems to generate great results with such ease, and although you want to be happy for them, you get this sense of deflation and feeling in the pit of your stomach and you wonder “why them and not me”?

You recognize that feeling? Don’t worry; I’ve been there…many times before. I’ve had the feeling when I’ve been working my butt off, and then someone comes out that seems to hit it out of the park. I wonder what the heck is this “secret sauce” that they have that is giving them all this success! Secretly, I’m thinking that because they are experiencing a great deal of success and have many followers and customers, there will be no room left for me.

In the past, I used to beat myself up for feeling envious or jealous. I would make myself wrong for feeling this way of the person who seems to have, and be experiencing what I desire. However, I’ve found a beautiful way of reframing this feeling of jealousy that is so freeing and empowering.

Whenever you have a strong sense on envy or jealousy, see it as your Soul recognizing itself in the other person and calling for you to bring it forth. If you did not have it within you, you would not have the strong sensation of jealousy. Many times, we take this feeling to mean that there’s not enough and if that person has what you want, then there is a limited supply and you will not have it too. However, the opposite is true. You need to see their success, as being within you. The work now is to align yourself to it, in order for it to emerge. It is already within you, waiting for the right conditions to manifest.

So, when you see someone having amazing results, see it as God/Source/Universe placing these people in your path, to serve as a reminder of what is coming to you. I actually now make a game of it myself. I take it a step further and actually say out loud “Thank you for my reminder”.  I look to be inspired and motivated by them, and know that if they can do it, so can I!

I was also lucky to be reminded of this this past week with a post from someone in one of my social networks. She wrote a post in our Facebook group with the hashtag (#) #ishineyoushine. How brilliant is that? It was another reminder for me that when we see someone doing amazing things, and you start to go down the path of envy and scare mentality and seeing your journey and current conditions as not enough, you must turn it around.  When you see someone shining, it gives you permission to shine too. It does not mean that there will be less for you. What it does, means is that because they can do it, so can you! And then be grateful and celebrate their success, because it is a hint of what’s to come for you.
