"Where you now stand is a result of thoughts and feelings that you have offered before, but where you are going is a result of your perspective of where you now stand."

Can you trust that the answer is within you?

Written by

Have you ever been so sure that the answer to something that you wanted resided outside of you? How many times have you looked at external circumstances for our happiness and satisfaction? "Once I make X amount I will be satisfied. If my husband would just behave this way, my life would be easier. I wonder if this job/career is the best choice for me."

We do this all the time! We get stuck or have an area in our life that is not working and instead of looking within for an answer; we look to the outside world. If it could just change or be different, then our life would improve. If I followed exactly what this person is doing, then I will have the same level of success. The list goes on.

As counter to our culture as this notion is, everything we need for our lives to change starts from within. This is great news because it means we can stop being victims of our circumstances and take responsibility for the change that we seek. This is hard for some to swallow because it is more comfortable to blame others for our frustrations and disappointments. It takes the focus off of us and means we do not have to do any work. However, for us to make that change, we need to be the ones to take action!

How do we start looking within and take action? For one, it's choosing to believe you have the abilities and capabilities to turn our desires into reality. I believe that we are not given a desire that we do not have the resources to carry out. Nor are we faced with a question that we do not have the answer to.

There are times when we relentlessly look to the opinion of others, afraid to trust our own inner knowing. We shut down the inner voice we all have that is forever guiding us, because it feels easier to ask someone else and not be held accountable for the outcome. It's time to stop second guessing yourself and trust your inner compass. You may not currently see these resources, but as you trust in the process and take inspired action, doors will fly open for you. Opportunities beyond your wildest dreams will be made available to you. But first you have to tune into this knowing and trust in it.
